Early College

We’ve known for a long time which is 3-4 years. The moment we met for the first time was when we had our first day of college, where we are registered at the same university which is famous for Computer Science majors. The reason we get into the Computer Science department is simple: we like the technology, although we do not get education as we expected (Toby no programmer, web programmer Fandy, Adhy web and graphic designer). We all met in the same class, namely Smart Class program of Binus University although not all smart kids, including me … not good at coding. Previously we did not know each other in the class until we know the first moment when we formed Discrete Mathematics homework group.

BNCC

When we joined the organization exhibition, we were registered at BNCC (Bina Nusantara Computer Club), which has alumnus like Tokopedia inventor, William Tanuwijaya. We registered sequentially and began to actively live a very unique organization such as technology companies, but non-profit. We took part in BNCC together and perform tasks like employees –> Toby (Chief Marketing Officer), Adhy (Chief Executive Officer) and Fandy (Senior Web Development Trainer and Software House Developer).

Startup Life

Since the beginning, we had our plan to create a startup. I can not coding but love technology, want to explore marketing where it turns out I was very excited in this area. I managed to meet with Raisa, the female singer number 1 in Indonesia, I was known in the startup community as Founder Institute, startuplokal, Tech in Asia and others. Creating largest IT Job Expo event in Indonesia, Indonesia Techno Career 2015. Chat with Andrew Darwis, Founder Kaskus, the Largest Community in Indonesia, William Tanuwijaya, Founder Tokopedia, the Largest Marketplace in Indonesia while Adhy and Fandy worked on projects from and startup companies that earn high incomes and won many awards. We also started several small startups as I said above.

Mountain Kejora Ventures

As the time is running, when I was active in the community, I achieved what I wanted at the time. Working at a venture capital. At that time, I came to Ideabox Launching, the best incubator in Indonesia so far. I met with Sebastian Togelang, Managing Director of Mountain Kejora Ventures (formerly Mountain SEA Ventures) and Andy Zain, Managing Director of the same company. A fortune that I was 18 years old at the time offered to be a part-time internship where I growth hacked traffic ofwww.kredit-online.co.id in to 1 million total traffics and more focus on finance niche with SEO and zero marketing budget. At that time I only had four and now Mountain Morning Star have employees up to 300 employees. I invited Adhy and Fandy to join because I wanted them to learn technical and learn to develop startup from the grounds.

Y Combinator, Knoowly

At another time, we decided full-time commitment to run Knoowly, Quora clone for Indonesia with advertising. The basic thing why we want to do is because we love sharing knowledge to people. Until finally we come to NXTCon together and was elected as one of the Dragon’s Den finalists. One of the greatest experiences in life when we could pitched out our ideas in front of investors and Y Combinator and receive private mentoring by Y Combinator (Ruchi Sanghvi, Ray Chan, Justin Kan, Daniel Kan, Tikhon Berstam and Kevin Hale). We are happy with what we have just experienced but because we were still part-time, we held this project for temporary time.

Pintarindo, Binus Incubator, SPEAQUS

When we were 5th semester we think, what shall we do when we want to run the final projects. Finally we chose to run Knoowly as starters and we are entered into BINUS Incubator for the last 1 year. The concept turned into Pintarindo, a marketplace for researchers and buyers. Finally we went through it for 6 months and had rejection up to 20 times and more. But the coach still wants us to survive and we feel there is no chance of him until we decided fearlessly and riskly to change the concept into SPEAQUS where we really want to develop a knowledge sharing culture movement in the world.
